- All Under the Nile toys are hand crafted, made and stuffed with organic cotton.
Most of the toys on the market are stuffed with "fluff" that can cause allergic reactions and
respiratory problems in babies. All of our toys are toy tested according to the ASTM United States
government standard as well as to the EN1 European standard.
- Our dyeing process uses metal-free or vegetable dyes. Accessories such as buttons and zippers are made
from organically friendly elements such as wood, shell or nickel-free metals.
- Under the Nile is certified to the Global Organic Textile Stadard (GOTS). GOTS is recognized as the
leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibers worldwide. It defines high level
environmental criteria along the entire supply chain of organic textiles and requires compliance with
social criteria as well. Under the Nile has two certifications: one for our manufacturing process, and
one for our distribution. All Under the Nile hangtags feature the GOTS logo.
- All Under the Nile products are Fair Trade. We exemplify fair trade principles, practicing fairness
towards all those involved in the entire production chain. A fair price is paid to all workers, from cotton
growers to weavers. Our partnership with Sekem Farm ensures that all of our employees work in a comfortable
environment that includes open space, sufficient light and fresh air, along with exercise activities during the day.
Two organic meals are served to all our workers in Egypt on a daily basis.
